We are aware that JSW Motors is set to introduce new cars derived from the Chery Motors. And here we have the first car spotting for the brand. The spyshot reveals G-wagon like silhouette, but in a compact size. From its compact size, we can tell it’s not the Jetour T2. This one is the iCar V23.

iCar V23:


Chery iCar V23, a compact boxy SUV, is currently on sale in China. The face features round headlamps and a sealed-off grille with body-coloured elements. At the rear, taillamps are mounted lower near the bumper, and you also get a small external storage compartment. From the front, it resembles the G-wagon yet follows its distinct design.


Inside the cabin, this SUV features a 15.4-inch infotainment screen powered by a Snapdragon chip, yes, like the one in your smartphone. In addition, there is a 360-degree camera, heated seat, and adaptive cruise control.
Powertrain:


This one is the electric SUV being offered with two powertrain configurations: RWD and AWD. The RWD (134hp, 180Nm) is better suited for the city, and the AWD (211hp, 292Nm) gives you the choice to tackle the terrain you want. In China, it is also offered with three battery packs: the base version features a 47.28 kWh battery, the middle one featuring 59.93 kWh battery, and the top one features an 81.76 kWh battery. Providing 300 to 550 km of claimed range for respective variants.
Launch and Pricing:
Both the launch and pricings remains to be under wraps. But we can expect this SUV to be in India by 2027, and priced between Rs 17 lakh and Rs 30 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). With this pricing and offering, this SUV will direct rivals to the Hyundai Creta EV, the Mahindra BE 6, and the newly introduced Toyota Ebella. What do you think about this SUV?
