Ultraviolette will establish its second production plant in Karnataka with a capacity of 1.50 lakh units annually

Ultraviolette, the pure EV brand, has announced that it will set up a new manufacturing facility in Karnataka with an annual capacity of 150,000 units. In addition, it will further expand the production capacity at its current factory in Bengaluru with a proposed investment of Rs 200 Crore. The Bengaluru-based all-electric brand signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Karnataka on the sidelines of the ‘Invest Karnataka’ Conclave in Bengaluru, which was formalized in the presence of Shri M. B. Patil, Honourable Minister for Large & Medium Industries, Karnataka.

Speaking on the announcement, Narayan Subramaniam, CEO & Co-founder of Ultraviolette said, “Karnataka has been central to Ultraviolette’s vision of Making in India for the World. This proposed manufacturing expansion reflects our confidence in the state’s forward-looking EV ecosystem, talent, and policy support. The combination of infrastructure readiness, proactive governance, and long-term incentive visibility creates a strong foundation for Ultraviolette’s next phase of growth.”

The Siddaramaiah-led Congress government in Karnataka will provide incentive support, including Production-linked Incentive (PLI) and fast-track facilitation to the brand as the expansion will create employment opportunities, deepen local manufacturing, and accelerate innovation in the EV sector. Ultraviolette has its headquarters in Bengaluru while it retails all-electric high-performance motorcycles namely F77 and X-47 Crossover in the Indian market.

Presently, Ultraviolette has a strong sales network in India with over 40 experience centres across major cities. The company claims that it aims to be present across 100 cities by the end of 2026 in the domestic market. It is the first Indian electric two-wheeler brand to enter Europe. Currently, it has a presence in 12 European countries.

Ultraviolette has plans to further scale its retail network across multiple Asian and Latin American countries. Recently, it announced a strategic partnership with Bolt.Earth to establish a nationwide interoperable Type-6 DC fast-charging network for two-wheelers. Built on the BIS-recognized Type-6 standard (IS 17017), it will be used to charge Ultraviolette electric motorcycles.

The brand claims that it will have 50 such fast-charging touchpoints in the next two months, with plans to scale to 2,000 chargers over the next 24 months. These will ensure 0–80 percent charge in around 2.5 hours through 3 kW DC fast charging which is likely to reduce range anxiety and support the widespread adoption of high-performance electric mobility in India.
