If you haven’t guessed it, the TVS bike we are talking about is the Ronin. First introduced with the theme of “Unscripted”, the Ronin has struggled to make its identity distinctive. While the sales figures say otherwise, the bike consists of a variety of characteristics of a roadster, cruiser, commuter and a few more. However, it looks like TVS is about to bring in a more intriguing version of the Ronin – a Cafe Racer. That’s right! With all the success that the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 has achieved, TVS might just try out this unique segment of bikes. As part of its first step towards this project, TVS has patented the design of a Cafe Racer-style motorcycle, which is based on the Ronin.

So, the brand is trying to change the Ronin’s approach of “Jack of all, king of none”. The patent reveals new design elements like a rear seat cowl, a sculpted seat, bar-end mirrors, cafe-racer front fairing, and much more. With the new character, the bike may also get ergonomic changes like rear set footpegs, a clip-on handlebar, and a few more. At the MotoSoul 2025, TVS encouraged bikers to showcase their design and engine prowess with their own TVS bikes. Many did go for the cafe-racer design, which coincidentally suited the bike. We believe that these changes will improve the bike’s dynamics. But what else can you expect from this upcoming TVS motorcycle?

Well, it is safe to say that the TVS Ronin will retain its original engine with a few minor tweaks. TVS has always been popular for making mechanically aesthetic bikes, which trickle down to the patent of the Ronin . At the heart of the matter is a 225cc engine producing 20.1bhp and 19.93 Nm of torque. We can expect to see features like riding modes, a round LCD display, ABS modes, USD front forks and much more. The existing Ronin carries a price tag ranging from Rs 1.54 lakh to Rs 1.92 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

The cafe-racer version could be priced around the Rs 2 lakh mark. With the new cafe-racer design language, the Ronin will likely be more attractive to younger crowds and some cafe-racer enthusiasts. As of now, no details of the launch have been revealed. However, we can expect TVS to launch the bike later this year or early next year.
