The Indian automobile market has been an SUV-dominated market for a long time, all thanks to their road presence, comfortand all-around practicality. Keeping that in mind, carmakers have responded by rolling out several SUVs in almost every price segment, including the entry-level SUVs like the Tata Punch. While it carries the SUV tag, it doesn’t really give you the feel of an actual SUV. But what if we told you that you could get a full-size SUV for the price of an entry-level SUV? Sounds interesting, right? Here’s everything you need to know!

What’s The Catch?

To put into perspective, the Punch currently sits between the price bracket of Rs 6.63 lakh and Rs 12.24 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), making this a no-brainer for many.
We found this Fortuner Legender on OLX, and it is not your regular Fortuner. At its core, this is a 2010 Toyota Fortuner, which has been converted to a current-gen Fortuner Legender using a body kit. The exterior makeover is where most of the magic happens. The entire front has been replaced to match the current Legender design. This includes a new Legender-style bumper, a redesigned all-black grille, and sharper LED headlamps, smoked-out tail lamps, and more. The rear has also been updated replacing the rear bumper with that of the current gen Legender. You also get to see a blacked-out logo with a red background. The sides also get updated cladding and trim elements with aftermarket alloy wheels. You get the car in a beautiful charcoal grey which ios very rare to find

However, the craziest part is not the replaced body kit, but an added sunroof. Yes, this Fortuner gets a sunroof. Something that Toyota should’ve done a long time ago. The interiors have also been updated with a dual-tone theme. The black and red elements inside the cabin give the car a more sporty touch to the car. You also get an upgraded infotainment system with a massive screen that you also get to see in the current MG Hector. The steering wheel has also been replaced, giving the cabin a modern look.

Powertrain

Under the hood, the Fortuner stays true to the reputation that made it an icon in the first place. It is powered by a 3.0-litre diesel engine producing around 171bhp and 360Nm torque. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission with 4X4. The car has been driven around 1,30,000km,which may seem a lot at first glance. But it is important to note that it is nothing when compared to Toyota long lasting engines. Toyota have been widely known for their long lasting engines with very cheap maintenance.

Final Verdict
At the price of a mid-spec Tata Punch, this Fortuner Legender offers way more than you could get at this price. So if you’re looking for an SUV that does not demand attention and can last you an eternity, this is the deal for you.
