7. Maruti Fronx


The Fronx has been a big hit amongst Indian customers. People appreciate its looks, and the punchy 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and garnered healthy sales throughout 2025. The Maruti Fronx topped this list in December, but it has since seen a significant dip since then. Maruti sold 13,353 units of the Fronx in January, 7,000 fewer than the month prior.
The Fronx comes with a decent equipment list, including cruise control, wireless charging, an electric sunroof, and a 9-inch infotainment screen. Pricing starts at Rs 8.01 lakh and goes up to Rs 14.09 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

6. Maruti Victoris


This is Maruti’s latest launch, and it seems to be doing well in terms of numbers. Last month, it sold more than 15,200 units, which is a big improvement of 9,000 units over December.
The Victoris also comes with an extensive feature list, including an ADAS suite, a 360-degree camera, ventilated and powered front seats, a panoramic sunroof, etc. The Victoris range starts at Rs 12.50 lakh, and can go up to Rs 23.64 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). for the top variant.

5. Mahindra Scorpio


The Scorpio brand has become a household name amongst Indians. It was one of the most desirable SUVs throughout the 2000s. And Mahindra has cashed in on this name. Mahindra sold a total of 15,542 units under the Scorpio brand name. However, these numbers include both the Classic and N versions.
Latest rumours suggest that the Scorpio N could get a facelift soon. Nonetheless, the outgoing version offers a decent feature list, including an 8-inch infotainment display, an electric sunroof, and ventilated and powered front seats. On the other hand, the Classic caters to those who desire a more rugged SUV. It misses out on key amenities like ADAS, powered and ventilated seats, but it has the basic features to get by. The Scorpio N starts at Rs. 16.20 lakh, with the top variant priced at Rs. 29.68 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Moreover, the Scorpio Classic costs between Rs. 15.97 lakh and 20.46 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

4. Maruti Brezza


This was Maruti’s best-selling SUV last month. It sold a healthy 17,486 units last month. Brezza sales witnessed a short dip of almost 250 units when compared to December 2025.
The Brezza offers features such as a 360-degree parking camera, an electric sunroof, a head-up display, wireless charging, and a 9-inch infotainment screen. An ADAS suite and ventilated front seats are glaring misses on this list, since its rivals offer these features. The Brezza is priced between Rs 9.68 lakh and Rs 15.42 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

3. Hyundai Creta


The Creta gets the bronze medal in this race. Despite the introduction of SUVs like the Sierra, Duster and the Kushaq facelift, buyers still desire the Creta. In fact, it sold 17,921 units, an improvement of 4,767 units over December 2025. Keep in mind, these figures include both ICE and EV sales.
The Creta boasts an impressive feature list, including Level-2 ADAS, ventilated and powered front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and much more. The pricing for the ICE Creta ranges from Rs. 12.83 lakh to Rs. 24.48 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Furthermore, the Creta electric starts at Rs. 19.12 lakh, and the top-end 51 kWh battery pack trim costs Rs. 26.10 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

2. Tata Punch


The facelift of the Tata Punch received a great response from Indian buyers. Tata sold 19,257 units of Punch in January. Compared with 15,980 unit sales in December 2025, this is a hike of more than 3,000 units. As with the Creta, the Punch sales figures include both ICE and EV versions.
Tata has given the Punch an impressive feature list, including a 360-degree parking camera and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen. and a 7-inch digital driver’s display. The Tata Punch price range starts at Rs. 6.62 lakh, and the top trims can go up to Rs 12.23 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Its electric sibling, the Punch EV, is priced between Rs. 10.39 lakh and 15.31 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

1. Tata Nexon


Tata has taken up both the gold and silver medals in this race. The Nexon is the only SUV on this list to have crossed 20,000 monthly unit sales. It sold 23,365 units (EV and ICE combined), almost 4,000 units more than in December 2025.
It is one of the most feature-packed sub-4 m SUVs in the market. Its equipment list includes a 10.25-inch driver’s display, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree parking camera, rear sunblinds, and Level 2 ADAS. The ICE Nexon range starts from Rs. 9.21 lakh and goes up to Rs 17.05 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Meanwhile, the Nexon EV starts at Rs. 13.22 lakhs and goes up to Rs 18.56 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
