Toyota

One of the most reliable automakers in the country managed to get a good number of sales last month. Toyota has been experiencing steady growth over the past few months. With that said, the automaker has sold 30,737 units in February 2026, indicating a 16.37% increase over last year’s sales. Toyota’s best seller remains the Innova, including Hycross and Crysta both. And with the next-gen Fortuner spotted testing across the seas, this number is expected to grow even further. 

Hyundai 

Hyundai had a strong start to 2026, recording its highest sales in January. And following that is the automaker’s highest sales figure ever recorded in February.  Hyundai sold 52,407 units last month. Brand has seen a 9.81% increase over February 2025. And yes, this time too, Creta was one of the biggest contributors to the huge sales figures with about 17,938 units. The South Korean automaker is gearing up for a busy year ahead, with multiple new launches and facelifts.

Mahindra – Best-selling car brands in India

The fight for the second position in the Indian automotive space is really interesting, with two Indian automakers competing. Mahindra 7XO was one of the most popular product sinces its launch at the start of the year. That being said, Mahindra managed to sell about 60,018 units, putting it in third place in sales. This Indian automaker has achieved 19% more sales in February than last year, amounting to about 10,000 units more. Its is expected to be a happening year for Mahindra with multiple camouflaged Mahindras being spotted.  

Tata 

The runner-up in this race remains Tata Motors. Tata Motors has seen a massive 34% growth in its passenger vehicle segment compared to last year. Tata Motors clocked 62,239 units last month, which is 15,804 units ahead of February 2025. This hype can be the result of the return of the legend, the Tata Sierra, at the end of last year, and the Punch facelift earlier this year. With the Sierra to be introduced with a new powertrain, it is interesting to see how Tata’s sales grow.  

Maruti Suzuki – Best-selling car brands in India

Once again, Maruti Suzuki tops this list. Maruti Suzuki has managed to sell about 1.61,000 units, which is a very small increase over last year’s sales. The compact car from Maruti, including S-Presso, Celerio, Ignis, Swift and WagonR, has seen a drop in sales over the last year. But the larger Marutis are consistently performing better for the brand, with about 72,756 units sold, up from last year’s figure of 65,033. This number also shows how Indians are leaning more towards the larger SUV and MPV segments.
