TVS Motor Company led the pack as Bajaj, Ather, and Hero Vida made steady growth in sales numbers during the last financial year

TVS Motor Company emerged as the leading electric two-wheeler brand in the Indian market in FY26 (Apr 2025 – Mar 2026). It retailed over 3.41 lakh e-scooters during the last financial year in India with a YoY growth of 43.54 percent. The home-grown brand had sold around 2.38 lakh units in FY25 and hence the sales data suggests that it sold over 1 lakh more electric scooters in FY26 in the domestic market. TVS has quite a diverse e2w portfolio with as many as three models in the form of iQube, X and Orbiter.

Bajaj Auto occupied the second position with sales of nearly 2.90 lakh units in FY26 as compared to 2.31 lakh units in FY25. The Pune-based company registered a YoY growth of 25.17 percent as it had a market share of 20.64 percent in the electric two-wheeler segment behind 24.36 percent market share of TVS. Bajaj retails multiple different variants of the Chetak e-scooter in India.

Ather Energy, the Bengaluru-based all-electric brand, secured the third position by retailing around 2.40 lakh units in FY26. The company posted a strong YoY growth of 82.34 percent as 1.31 lakh units were sold in FY25. Ather recorded its highest-ever sales in a financial year in FY26 as Rizta emerged as one of the best-selling electric scooters in the Indian market.

Ola Electric slipped to fourth position with sales of 1.64 lakh units in FY26. The brand suffered heavy loses in the last financial year with YoY de-growth of 52.28 percent. It was the segment leader in FY25 with sales of 3.44 lakh units and as we can see, the sales volumes almost halved in FY26 due to servicing issues, spart parts unavailability and strong competition.

Hero Vida witnessed an unprecedented rise in YoY sales by more than 196 percent as it retailed 1.44 lakh units in FY26 as compared to 48,738 units in FY25. The sixth spot was held by Greaves Electric Mobility (GEM) which retails Ampere electric scooters in the Indian market. The company sold 61,563 units with a YoY growth of 53.26 percent against 40,169 units in FY25.

BGauss, River EV, Pure EV and E-Sprinto were the other four brand who could make it to the list of top 10 electric two-wheeler brands in FY26. Notably, E-Sprinto recorded a YoY growth of 792.97 percent as numbers shot up from 1,409 units in FY25 to 12,582 units in FY26. The competition in FY27 is going to even more fierce in the Indian electric two-wheeler industry due to the arrival of two new Japanese players namely Suzuki and Yamaha.
