Maruti Suzuki SUV Price Announced:

Maruti Suzuki entered the electric race with its e Vitara. Surprisingly, the brand didn’t seem to be sure about the pricing for a really long time, until very recently. A couple of days ago, the official Nexa website listed the e Vitara at Rs 24.79 lakh. This made the potential buyer upset. But to regain its value-for-money proposition, the brand announced the e-Vitara’s price under the BaaS scheme at Rs 11.60 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). And now they have released the full pricing for the e Vitara lineup.

The e-Vitara is offered in four variants with two battery pack options. Here is the full pricing of the variant lineup on-road, Mumbai:

  • Delta (49.0 kWh): Rs 16.99 lakh
  • Zeta (61.0 kWh): Rs 18.56 lakh
  • Alpha (61.0 kWh): Rs 20.97 lakh
  • Alpha Dual Tone (61.0 kWh): Rs 21.20 lakh

This pricing puts it right between its rivals, not the benchmark-setter we expected. But is it a better value for money compared to its rivals?

e Vitara VS Rivals:

The e Vitara, being a Maruti product, was expected to be priced aggressively, to undercut rivals, and to provide great value for money. Yes, it is cheaper than the Hyundai Creta Electric, which is priced between Rs 19.12 lakh and Rs 26.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). But Creta has so much more to offer. Even the MG Windsor seems to offer better value and comfort for city use, at a lower price point, starting at Rs 15.04 lakh and going up to Rs 19.78 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara:

The e Vitara with the 49.0kWh (144bhp, 193Nm) battery pack claims a range of 440km, while the 61.0kWh (184bhp, 307Nm) variants claim 543km. Inside the cabin e Vitara features Level-2 ADAS, a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, ventilated and powered front seats, a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, and much more.
What do you think about this new pricing for the e Vitara?
