Toyota Fortuner:

This looks like an ordinary gen-one Toyota Fortuner. As no cosmetic changes have been made to the exteriors. Most of us will misunderstand it as a robust, relatively slow-moving mile muncher SUV. But this Fortuner offers so much more than just space and reliability. Here is a list of changes that make this one of the most unique fortuners of the country:
Monster Under The Hood:

In 2011, this Fortuner’s 3-litre diesel engine produced 171bhp and 343Nm, but now with the stage-3 tune, it produces 256bhp and 500Nm. How is that possible?
As the Driver Hub host showcases the engine bay, we identify that it is not much like the stock one. Team Performance Racing has installed a performance BRD intercooler, radiator, and BMC air filter. All of this is to enhance performance by improving airflow and cooling. Not to get too technical, we just have to understand that more air gives out better performance.
Underneath all the shiny intercooler setup, there is also an upgraded turbo. To ensure these upgrades deliver the best performance, this Fortuner also features a standalone ECU. The ECU also enables launch control by adjusting various parameters. Also, the standalone ECU can run the car on three different tunes. Topping this off, Team Performance Racing has replaced the stock exhaust system with an in-house-built unit.
Inside The Cabin:

To complement the SUV’s sporty performance, the owner has installed all-red interiors. This all-red interior might not be everyone’s cup of tea. The most interesting feature inside the cabin remains the centre console, which features an aftermarket screen. Again, this is not just any ordinary infotainment screen. This screen is coded with the ECU, giving you engine-bay data directly in the cabin, without a computer. Also, the centre console features a controller to switch between three engine maps. How cool is that?
We estimate that the modification of these built costs is somewhere above Rs 8 lakhs. And you can find a gen-one Toyota Fortuner priced somewhere between Rs 7 lakh and Rs 15 lakh. You can get a more powerful Fortuner for one-third of the price. Will you upgrade your Toyota Fortuner with these mods??
