Tata Sierra Mileage

When Tata tested the Sierra’s potential at the NATRAX high-speed test track, they managed to clock 222kmph on the speedo – a very impressive number. However, Tata also achieved 29.9 kmpl – the highest-ever fuel economy figure at the NATRAX test track. This was officially certified by the India Book of Records. What Tata did was maintain a few parameters to achieve this impressive figure: 12 hours of continuous driving and covering over 800 km at an average speed of 70 kmph. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg. What really helped Tata Motors achieve this milestone was the new 1.5-litre TGDi engine.

Well, Tata claims that the engine has an AI-optimised 350-bar injection, which sprays fuel into the combustion chamber with utmost precision. So, no fuel is wasted during the process. Additionally, Tata has used CNC-machined air pathways for better intake, resulting in the perfect air-fuel mixture. What also helps the Sierra maintain the perfect balance between performance and fuel efficiency is the electrically actuated variable geometry turbo.
So, this engine must be expensive, right? Well no. Here are all the details about the same.
