The upcoming Creta rival, Sierra, has already been confirmed to launch with ICE and EV powertrains. Yet from the beginning, Tata has been suggesting that the EV model would be launched first, followed by the ICE versions. However, at present, the Indian brand is majorly stressing up on the petrol/diesel version, the EVs are still kept under wraps.

Earlier, it was expected that Tata might launch the ICE version of Sierra on 25th November, and its electric iteration could hit the stage on 9th December. But, the Harrier and Safari petrol versions also came in the picture – both these SUVs will be launching on the 9th December. That hints that the electric iteration of Sierra might be put on hold. But why?

The answer is straight, Harrier EV. Tata Motors launched the Harrier back in June. With its on-road and off-road capabilities, extreme power and attractive feature list – the SUV is driving good sales numbers for the brand. And having a new electric SUV at this time might disturb the Harrier.

That said, the Sierra EV – which was expected to be launched this year, now seems to be a bit delayed. Expect the SUV to hit the Indian roads by the start of 2026. Pricing-wise, expect it to be priced between Rs 17 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Tata can also go a step ahead and offer the auto park feature with this SUV. Exact details will be shared once the launch gets scheduled.

Even the battery pack details have not been shared by the brand – while it can have the similar dual battery pack setup seen on the Harrier EV, a 65kWh and a 75kWh. But, an QWD configuration on the model is still under wraps. That said, we would need to wait for a bit, to know about the exact details of the model.
