Design

We expected the Punch facelift to look similar to the existing Punch EV, which has a modern and sleek design. But Tata had slightly different plans and has done a great job with the new Punch facelift. Like the Nexon, the Punch facelift does not get connected DRL like the Punch EV. This is to differentiate the ICE version from the EV. The facelift brings in design changes like a new bumper, vertically stacked headlights, a connected LED taillight, a new alloy-wheel design and much more. Although Tata has not completely revealed the design of the Punch facelift, all these design elements put together will make up for an enhanced design.

Tata Punch Facelift Features

Tata never holds back on features in its cars, and the Punch facelift will surely get a similar treatment. From the teaser, it is safe to say that the Punch will get a radar system for its ADAS. It is unclear whether it will get a Level 2 ADAS suite, but it will very likely get ADAS. Surprisingly, the Punch facelift seems to have a small 7-inch instrument cluster instead of the 10.25-inch unit seen in the Punch EV, which we think is a miss. However, the facelift is expected to bring in features like ventilated front seats, automatic climate control with touch-based control and much more. We also expect Tata to offer six airbags as standard, replacing the current two-airbag model.

Powertrain And Pricing

The highlight of the teaser was the i-turbo badging along with the 6-speed MT. It is likely that Tata will offer the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. We could expect the power figures to be around 108bhp and 140Nm of torque, similar to the Altroz i-turbo. However, we do expect Tata to continue offering the 1.2-litre NA petrol engine. This will also be paired with the CNG powertrain. Pricing-wise, expect the new model to be sold with a price hike of around Rs 50,000, depending on the variants.
