Hero MotoCorp was successful in saving its crown of India’s biggest two-wheeler brand in Jan 2026 by a whisker as Honda came very close to dethrone it
Hero MotoCorp continued as India’s biggest two-wheeler brand in Jan 2026 with sales of 5.20 lakh units. Though Honda came very close to dethrone Hero from the pole position, but somehow it managed to cling on with a difference of less than 650 odd units. For the unversed, Hero and Honda registered sales of 5,20,208 and 5,19,579 units in Jan 2026, respectively. Needless to state, the Splendor led the charge for Hero with over 3.10 lakh units retailed last month which is more than combined sales of Royal Enfield, Suzuki and Yamaha.
First things first, Hero MotoCorp recorded YoY sales growth of 26.1 percent as 4,12,378 units were sold in Jan 2025. Though the market share in the two-wheeler segment remained the same at 27.02 percent. The Splendor sales at 3,10,802 units grew by 27 percent on a YoY basis as 2,45,315 units were sold in Jan 2025.
