The Innova has been India’s favourite 7-seater MPV for a long time. Over its 20-year tenure in the country, it has competed with many others, yet remains undefeated. And Skoda is now planning to launch this 7-seater and hopes that it has cracked the code to defeat the Innova. Here are all the details you should know.

Skoda’s Innova Rival

Skoda already has big plans for this year, with 4 launches: the Octavia RS, the Kodiaq RS, a premium sedan (the Superb), and the Slavia facelift. And now, to further diversify its range, we could see a new addition soon – the Peaq.
Skoda unveiled the concept Vision 7S at the Indian AutoExpo last year, and now key details about its production spec model have been revealed globally. It has been named “Peaq” and is a 7-seater electric MPV. And its appearance at the Indian Auto Expo suggests we could see it on Indian roads as well.

It is a 4.9m long MPV, which means it is roomier than the Innova Hycross and the Innova Crysta. But it is still much shorter than luxury MPVs like the Kia Carnival, MG M9, and Toyota Vellfire. It will probably sit between the Innovas and the premium MPVs to fill in the gap.

Skoda Peaq – Powertrain

With the Peaq, you would get 2 battery options – a 63kWh (204bhp) and a 91kWh (286 -299 bhp) pack. And with the top variant, you can also opt for an AWD drivetrain. It may be an MPV, but it packs plenty of punch and can touch 0-100 kmph in a mere 6.7 seconds (for the AWD trim). The 63kWh pack has a claimed range of around 460km, while the 91kWh variants can go up to 600km. And with DC fast charging, you can charge the Peaq from 10% to 89% in 30 minutes.

- Powered and massaging seats, with ventilation
- Foldable table

Skoda Peaq – Expected Launch & Pricing

Since the concept was revealed in India, it is very likely that we could see it on India markets as well. As of now, Skoda has a packed 2026, which means we could potentially see it being launched by mid- to late-2027.
While we are confident about its launch, we do not yet know how it will be brought to India. It could be a CBU like the Octavia RS, or Skoda could be aggressive and launch it as a CKD unit. And this would determine the pricetag. While the FTA deal will certainly help lower costs, it will still cost north of Rs 60 lakh. However, if launched as a CKD, we could see it priced in the Rs 40-55 lakh range (on-road, Mumbai). You would have to pay a premium over the Hycross for this European MPV, but you also get a lot for your money.
