Indians Introducing Tesla Technology In Normal Cars:

We came across another video from Swaayatt Robots, featuring a Mahindra Thar with their new ADAS Level-5 technology. At the start, the host mentions that the Thar will be dodging obstacles on its own, without any human intervention. In the rest of the video, we can see various POVs Thar actually doing it. It’s very interesting to see the car dodging the unpredictable elements of traffic, mimicked by the Swaayatt Robots team.
Self-Driving Unlocked For The Thar:

Yes, Mahindra offers ADAS with the Thar, but it’s only available on the Roxx. This ADAS Level 2 is not capable of driving the car on its own; it can only stop the car when an unpredictable obstacle approaches. The Swaayatt Robots team has gone ahead and given the Thar the ability to drive on its own and handle unpredictable obstacles on Indian Roads, not just by stopping the car, but by actually avoiding it and moving on. How did they manage to pull this off?
Swaayatt Robots ADAS System:

Autonomous driving is achieved by a complex ecosystem of cameras, sensors and software working together. Multiple inputs from cameras and sensors, such as LiDAR, GNSS, and others, are processed by software and AI modules and further provided to the car’s ECU. With the software completes the prediction, the inputs are given to the ECU for exclusion.
How Safe Is This?
From the video, we can identify that the self-driving Thar can avoid obstacles, but complete reliance on electronics can turn fatal. This technology can help reduce accidents caused by human error, but it should only be considered a driver-assisting system for the time being. If you have a Thar, would you like to install this system in your car??
