Skoda Kylaq Modified – Most Powerful Kylaq In India!

The folks at The Drivers Hub have made a video about the first and most powerful Skoda Kylaq. The owner of the Kylaq took the car straight to the tuners after taking delivery. The Kylaq was taken to CarMed+, a tuning workshop, for a stage 1 remap. Soon after getting to the workshop, they checked whether the new Kylaq is tunable. So, they removed the Bosch ECU from the Kylaq, tried installing the necessary software for the tune, but were unsuccessful at first. However, after a few tries, they were able to remap the ECU to eke out more performance from the SUV. The Kylaq is already quite a fun car to drive, and the engine performance is pretty good.

In stock form, the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine in the Kylaq produces 114bhp and 178Nm of torque along with a 6-speed MT. However, after the stage 1 remap, thanks to the new ECU tune from Code 6, the Kylaq is putting out 128.2bhp and 250 Nm of torque. The throttle response is now better, and the infamous 1.0-litre TSI’s turbo lag is reduced. While the power bump is not a lot, it will likely improve the driving experience and feel. While Code 6 has not actually revealed the price of the tune, a Virtus 1.0-litre stage 1 tune costs around Rs 25,000. As it is the same engine as the Kylaq, it is safe to say that the price for the tuning will be in the same ballpark.

The Kylaq carries a price tag ranging from Rs 9.01 Lakh to Rs 15.40 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
