Royal Enfield Guerrilla Ride Review –

I overheard someone say, RE Hunter ‘walks’ but the Guerrilla ‘runs’, and it struck my mind as I pulled the throttle. The first rev eventually put a grin on my face, the raw power, it’s unlike the other Royal Enfields! I got a chance to test its capabilities on a short empty road, where it touched 80-90 within a few seconds, and you know what, there were still 3 gears left.
So, yes you will feel the raw power. Vibrations are there, as well as heating issues – but both are manageable. Above 100kph, you will feel vibrations on the footpegs, none on the handle bars and this shows RE has done a good job. Obviously it’s a single cylinder engine, you can’t expect it to not have any vibrations. Even the engine heats, even in a short spin – so for someone, who upgrades to this bike from a commuter segment bike will feel it and then will get used to it. If you crave power and performance – honestly you will love this motorcycle.

The circular cluster also displays every information needed, even if it can be paired with a device. Now, even if it is a Himalayan with a shredded skin, the Guerrilla’s suspension is something I personally didn’t like. To make it powerful and sporty, the suspension on this motorcycle is stiff. It will make you feel every pothole, and broken patches. Also unlike the Himalayan, the Guerrilla can be a good choice for even short-height riders – it comes with a 780mm. It weighs around 182kg, but can be easily moved from tight spaces. Even you won’t feel the weight when you are sprinting or even casually riding the motorcycle on highways or in traffic.
For someone, who might look for fuel efficiency, don’t expect it to deliver a mileage of anything above 30. Now, it doesn’t come with a good tank capacity, it comes with 11 litres. So probably after a short distance you would need to wait for a refuel. This is one of the negatives about this motorcycle. Even if you are looking to buy it for touring purposes, you must note about the short seat. Once loaded with luggage, there’s very limited space left – which might not be comfortable for the rider and might let you take some more brakes to stretch your legs.

Verdict

So, is it a perfect bike for you? Now, if you want something that has raw power, for a major commute and some long trips, then the Guerrilla 450 might suit you. But, if you are looking for a bike for your long trips only, then somehow you might cancel the Guerrilla from your check list. The power is enthralling, so if you are a new rider make sure you are careful with the throttle.
