What To Expect?

On the outside, we can definitely see that the latest Duster resembles its previous generations. This SUV still follows the boxy, robust look the Duster was known for, and Renault has added modern design elements as well. The Renault logo on the front grille is now gone; instead, it features the ‘Duster’ branding. This branding on the front grille is absent from the international version; it is safe to say it’s only India-specific. At the rear, Duster features a connected tail lamp design, along with the 2D Renault logo and Duster branding on the tailgate. What really resembles the OG Duster is the black cladding all around the car, and the grey inserts into the front and rear bumpers.

Inside the cabin, it’s nothing like the older version, which felt outdated and basic. This one comes with the dual-screen setup featuring a 10.1-inch infotainment system and a 10.25-inch driver’s display. More to this is the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, offering dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and 48-colour ambient lighting. For driver’s assistance, this SUV also comes with a 360-degree camera and a Level-2 ADAS system. In terms of pricing, we can expect the Duster to be priced between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Powertrains:

From what we know, it’s for sure that Renault will be introducing the Duster with the turbopetrol engines showcased at the time of the reveal. This pair includes a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol (98.63bhp) and a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol (160bhp). The smaller engine is to be offered with the 6-speed manual gearbox, whereas the bigger is to be paired with the 6-speed DCT gearbox. The hybrid powertrain option featuring the 1.8-litre petrol engine is to be reserved for the festive season. And sadly, Renault has shown no sign of introducing a diesel or an AWD powertrain with this new Duster.
