Tata Harrier.ev And Red Bull – Beas River Challenge

The Tata Harrier.ev has proven to be quite the off-road SUV since its climb up the Elephant Rock. Following that, Red Bull, popular for hosting extreme sports, challenged the Harrier.ev in a very different terrain – the Beas River. Redbull said, “Let’s raise the bar”, and the Harrier said, “Let’s remove the ground under it.”

Tata has just dropped a banger of a video of the Harrier.ev crossing the Beas River with Abdo Feghali – Guinness World Record holder for longest drift, behind the wheel. To complete the challenge, Redbull and Harrier.ev split the adventure into 3 stages: The Splash Attack, Deep Backwaters, and the Surge. So, let’s see how the Harrier.ev conquered this challenge!

Stage 1 – The Splash Attack

Starting off, the Harrier.ev with Abdo behind the wheel, scampered over the loose rocks in the river basin. While this is just the beginning, it is still quite a tough terrain. Driving fast over loose rocks and puddles is not an easy task, especially for an SUV that is this massive. But the Tata SUV obliterates this stage with great traction and off-road prowess.

Stage 2 – Deep Backwaters – Tata Harrier.ev

The next stage looks to be quite intimidating. An EV going through deep waters, that has to be scary. But the show must go on. The Harrier.ev enters the backwaters, with the water rising up to its wheels. Thanks to Tata’s 540-degree surround camera, Abdo can see everything, even beneath the SUV, making the adventure slightly easier. Until now, the river hasn’t yet been violent enough and the Harrier.ev gets past the second stage.

Stage 3 – The Surge

Now, the Harrier.ev has arrived at the edge of the last stage – the most violent stage. The dam gates have been opened, causing the river to flow with immense force. Abdo Feghali drives the SUV into the last stage. The water rises as high as the menacing DRLs in just a few seconds. The Radio speaks, “This is the deepest cut of the river, all rocks, no mercy. Water’s got a heavy flow there, don’t slow down now, you will float. One wrong move, and the river takes the car! To this message, Abdo smirks & replies, “I’ve got this!” Activating boost mode, Abdo makes use of 504Nm of torque. Giving it all, the Harrier.ev walks past the most challenging part of the river and conquers yet another challenge.
So, what other challenge would you give the Tata Harrier.ev?
