Hyundai Exter Facelift Launched!

The Exter is the entry-level SUV in the Hyundai lineup. It hasn’t undergone major changes since its 2023 launch, and the Korean automaker has finally decided a facelift is due.

The Hyundai Exter has been launched at a price of Rs 6.86 lakh, and the top variant can go up to Rs 11.12 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). It gets two new colour options – Golden Bronze and Titanium Black Matte. Additionally, Hyundai has changed the variant names, and they now match those of the Verna and Venue. But what else is new with the update?

Exterior Changes

Like with all facelifts, the aesthetics have been tweaked. You get a new front bumper and grille. Moreover, the Exter badge has been moved onto the piece of trim that connects the DRLs. The blacked-out front grille, along with the aluminium trim, gives it a sportier look. However, no changes have been made to the headlight and taillight units.

From the side, you can also spot thicker black cladding, new 15-inch alloy wheels and a C-pillar garnish. Hyundai has committed to the sportier look, as the exterior now also gets a rear spoiler.

Powertrain

It carries over the powertrain options from the predecessor. You get a 1.2-litre NA petrol (83bhp & 114Nm) as standard, along with the option of a dual-cylinder CNG. The petrol variants get a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT as gearbox options, while the CNG comes with a 5-speed manual as standard.

And due to this dual-cylinder layout, the Exter boasts 225 litres of boot space. On the other hand, the petrol variants get a 391-litre boot space. This gives the Exter a slight boost in practicality over the Tata Punch.
