Kia 7-Seater Gets Updated!
Kia currently sells 3 iterations of the Carens: the Carens, Carens Clavis, and Carens Clavis EV. All are different iterations of the same MPV, and yet each has multiple differentiating factors. And now Kia has unveiled 3 important updates that make this model even more special.

Kia has introduced two new variants – X-line, GT-line (GTX and GTX+)on the Carens Clavis EV. The Korean automaker has also introduced a 6-seater option across all trims. The GTX variant costs Rs 24.32 lakh, while the GTX+ and X-Line trims are priced at Rs 26.41 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), making them the 2 most expensive variants on offer. These trims are also available with a 6-seater layout, and you don’t have to pay any premium for it. But what else do you get for such a pricetag?

The GTX variant is based on the HTX trim, while the X-line and GTX+ variants are based on the HTK+. You pay a Rs 50,000 premium to opt for newer variants. With the new trims, the equipment list remains identical to that of the HTK & HTK+ trims, and you pay an extra cost for purely cosmetic reasons. The GT-line variants get newer alloys, lime-green brake callipers, and metal pedals. On the other hand, the X-line trim offers two colour options: Dark Gun Metal and Aurora Black Pearl. Furthermore, Kia has made 16-inch black aero-friendly alloys standard on the 42kWh-pack trims.

As for the equipment list, the only new features on these trims are a digital key and a battery-heating function. The rest of its equipment list includes –
- Wireless Charging
- 12.25-inch infotainment screen
- 12.25-inch digital driver’s display
- Level 2 ADAS
- Bose Premium Sound System
- Ventiated front seats
- Powered driver’s seat
- Panoramic sunroof
- 64-colour ambient lighting
Prior to this, captain seats were only available on the ICE Carens Clavis; they are now available on the electric counterpart as well. Many people prefer the luxury of captain seats to bench seats, and with this update, they can opt for captain seats at no additional cost.
