New Tata SUV Launching Next Month
On average, the running costs for the Tata Sierra are around Rs 8-10/km. This is before accounting for the servicing costs. What if we told you that Tata will bring a solution to this problem and make ownership costs much cheaper?

After the initial success of the ICE version, the launch of the electric variant seems like the obvious move ahead. It will sit between the Curvv and Harrier in its EV lineup. This is one of the most anticipated EV launches in recent time and it is expected to garner solid sales.

Tata Sierra.ev – Powertrain

The Sierra EV will be based on the acti.ev+ platform. This is the same platform as the Harrier.ev. The battery pack options are also expected to be adopted from its siblings, the Curvv EV and Harrier EV. We expect it to get the 55 kWh (167 bhp) pack from the Curvv.ev and the 65 kWh pack (238 bhp) from the Harrier.EV. The claimed figures for the options would be around 490-500 km for the 55kWh variant and 540-550 km for the 65kWh trim. What’s more interesting is that the Sierra EV could be offered with an AWD drivetrain on the higher variants.
Or Tata could also offer a 75kWh pack from the Harrier.ev, which has a claimed range of 622km. If offered with the Sierra.ev, the range figures would be higher. Moreover, this powertrain will also get a AWD drivetrain.

Looks and Features

The Sierra EV concept model was displayed at an Auto Expo long ago in 2023. The concept model looked identical to the production-spec Sierra. If not for the slightly revised front-end, you would mistake it for the ICE-Sierra. Moreover, the recently spotted test mule showed no major differences from the ICE variant.

The Sierra EV is expected to be packed with features like its ICE counterpart. Features such as a triple-screen display, ventilated and powered front seats, Level 2+ ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, and more are expected in the Sierra EV.
