Upcoming Tata SUV

The Tata Punch facelift was revealed last month and received a strong response. In fact, it was the second-best-selling SUV last month. And now Tata is looking to further capitalise on its success and launch the Tata Punch EV with big updates.
The Punch EV is all set for launch on 20 February, which is just a few days away. The Punch EV is the cheapest electric SUV on the market right now, and many people have been waiting for the facelift. The outgoing model is still quite popular amongst Indians, but with a facelift for the ICE version, it only made sense that Tata update its electric sibling as well.

Tata has already revealed the Punch EV’s exterior, and we have also spotted test mules of it on the road. The essence of the Punch EV will remain the same with the facelift, but Tata will make minor tweaks to keep it fresh, like the ICE version. From the spy shots, we can see that the overall stance remains identical to the outgoing model. Some distinct changes over the current model include a revised front bumper, new colour options, new alloy wheel design and connected taillights.

Tata Punch EV Facelift – Features And Specifications

Tata Punch Interior Used For Reference
The outgoing Punch EV boasts a decent equipment list that includes a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, electric ORVMs, an auto-dimming IRVM, an electric sunroof, and front ventilated seats. With the facelift, we expect to see features such as an ADAS suite, a powered driver’s seat, and a larger infotainment screen included in the equipment list.
At the moment, the Punch EV is offered with two battery pack options: a 25 kWh (82hp & 114 Nm) and a 35 kWh (122hp & 190 Nm) battery pack. The 25 kWh pack has a claimed range of 265 km, while the bigger pack has a range of 365 km. Tata surprised everyone when it offered the Nexon’s 1.2-litre turbo-petrol with the ICE Punch. We could see Tata pull off a similar stunt with the EV by offering a bigger 40 kWh pack from the Nexon on the Punch EV.

Tata Punch EV Facelift – Expected Pricing

Currently, the Tata Punch EV is priced between Rs 10.39 lakh and Rs 15.31 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). If Tata were to add an ADAS suite and a larger battery pack, we could see a price hike of up to Rs 50,000 to Rs 65,000 on the higher variants. If you are planning to buy the Punch EV, you should wait for a few days and get your hands on its facelift. Additionally, the launch of the Punch EV facelift would mean that Tata dealers would be offering heavy discounts on the outgoing version. Overall, it is a win-win situation for prospective Punch ev owners and all you have to do is wait until the 20th of February.
