New Toyota SUV Launched – Price 

Yes, the Toyota SUV that we are talking about is the Urban Cruiser Ebella, don’t shy away, its just a new name for its first electric SUV in India. Just like the Maruti, Toyota has also just revealed the SUV and hasn’t given any details about the pricing and deliveries. Just another piece of information is that the brand is offering a BaaS (battery-as-a-service) scheme for making the SUV more accessible.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella – Design & Dimensions

Talking about its design, even after being a rebadged version, Toyota’s EV SUV will have its different design language (obviously to differentiate itself from Maruti’s SUV). Design-wise, the Urban Cruise EV has different LED headlamps along with pixel-styled small DRLs above it, different bumper, new alloys, LED taillamps differentiated from the e Vitara. However, both the Toyota and Maruti EVs share the same silhouette.

Another thing that needs to be mentioned is the dimensions. This Toyota SUV boasts a wheelbase of 2700mm, which is the best in the segment. However, this enjoyment will only be limited till the launch of Sierra’s electric version – which will boast a 30mm bigger wheelbase than this.

Features & Safety

Toyota’s version of the Maruti e Vitara, shares several things – from the platform to the features. On the inside, it is only the Toyota’s logo on the steering that acts as a differentiator, while apart from that the cabin layout of this SUV is similar to its Maruti sibling. 

Talking about the features, some popular ones include a twin screen setup, Level 2 ADAS suite, 7-airbags standard, 360-degree camera, JBL premium audio system, wireless charging pad, sunroof, powered & ventilated front seats, sliding and reclining rear seats and more. 

Some time before, the Maruti e Vitara bagged a 5-star safety rating – and the same is expected to be the result for this Toyota SUV.

Powertrain

Just like the features, the powertrains for this Toyota SUV are carried from its Maruti sibling. That said, it gets two battery pack options – a 49kWh and a 61kWh. The Urban Cruiser Ebella is offered in 2WD as well as AWD system. 

Talking about the claimed range, the bigger battery pack will deliver an ARAI-certified range of 543km in a single charge.
