Jetour T2 Launched!

After months of anticipation and speculation, the mysterious SUV has finally been unveiled. Meet the Jetour T2, a rugged mid-size SUV recently launched in Malaysia. In Malaysia, the T2 has been introduced at MYR 157,000 (about Rs 37.30 lakh). In India, it is anticipated to be priced between Rs 15 and Rs 30 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), with a launch expected around this festive season. Its muscular, boxy shape, striking front fascia, and rear-mounted spare wheel immediately give it a commanding road presence. Every aspect, from its size to its attitude, suggests it’s ready to compete directly with India’s beloved Scorpio.

The Malaysian version provides clues about what might arrive in India. The T2 measures approximately 4.78 meters in length, with a 2.8-meter wheelbase, comfortably seats five adults, and features a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing around 250 horsepower and 390 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. However, the India-bound Jetour T2 will likely be offered only as a PHEV (plug-in hybrid).
It will use a 1.5-litre petrol engine mated to a 43.24 kWh battery pack. This configuration could deliver up to 130 km of electric-only range, making it both efficient and technologically advanced. Inside, it includes features such as a 15.6-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and advanced safety systems, including adaptive cruise control and lane assist.
