Spotted For The First Time!
Some time ago, Mahindra unveiled quite a few concept cars, and among these, the XEV9E, XEV 9S, and BE 6 have already made it to production. And now, another of its concepts, the BE.07, has been spotted testing on Indian roads. A few days ago, we reported that Mahindra will launch the BE.07 by next year, and now we can already see it in the flesh.

The test mule is heavily camouflaged, but we can spot a few key details. It dons a similar boxy stance as the concept model. Moreover, you also spot the aero-friendly alloys and C-shaped headlights. Some of the aggressiveness of the concept model has been toned down for the production-spec, but nonetheless, both share many similarities.

The concept model was slightly more than 4.5m long, 1.9m wide, and 1.66m high, making it larger than the BE.06. However, despite these dimensions, it will be a 5-seater. Mahindra already have a 7-seater in the lineup and 2 coupe-SUVs, so the BE.07 will fill in the gap for a conventional 5-seater mid-sized SUV.

Expected Features & Specifications

XEV9E Interior Used For Reference
The BE.07 will be packed with all the features of its electric siblings. These features include a triple-screen layout with 12.3-inch screens, a panoramic glass roof, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, ventilated and powered front seats, a 360-degree camera, Level 2+ ADAS, wireless charging, and an electric tailgate.
We expect it to be offered with 59 kWh, 70kWh, and 79 kWh battery packs. On the XEV9S, the range for these packs is 521km, 600km and 679km, respectively. And when offered with the smaller BE.07, these figures will get a minor boost. Furthermore, Mahindra could also offer it with an AWD dual-motor setup for a more powerful, sportier drive.

New Mahindra SUV – Expected Pricing & Launch

Its main competitor would be the Harrier.ev, which means that it would sit in the Rs 22-32 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) segment. The BE.07 will be the 5th EV in Mahindra’s lineup, and the automaker believes that the BE.07 will do well in the sales department, like the 9S, 9E and BE.06.
The launch timeline has already been revealed, and we will see the production spec on Indian roads by 2027. What do you think about Mahindra’s new approach? Is it the right decision, or is it going overboard with its EVs? Let us know your thoughts below.
