Indian SUV space is about to get interesting with the introduction of a whole new brand. Why are we only talking about the SUVs? Because this new brand has just patented its first SUV, which will be launched in India very soon. Yes, it’s the Jetour T2 rebadge under the JSW Motors brand. This move, along with the teaser released a few days back, hints at the brand’s entry into the Indian market very soon. So, what will JSW Motors be offering with the T2?

The patented Jetour T2 is a sub-5-meter SUV, measuring about 4.7 meters long across the seas. Even though this SUV would be as long as the Mahindra Scorpio, it is expected to feature only 2 row seating layout. On the outside, Jetour T2 is a big, boxy, and rugged-looking SUV that resembles higher-segment cars like the Land Rover Defender. The boxy design is carried across the car, with the front end featuring boxy LED headlamps and rectangular taillamps. In addition to the boxy design, the external storage attached to the tailgate gives it the appearance of a rear-mounted spare wheel.

Inside the cabin, this SUV is equipped with a lot of features, including a 15.6-inch infotainment system, a 10.25-inch driver’s display, a 12-speaker Sony sound system, a panoramic sunroof, and ventilated/heated front seats. For driver’s assistance, it also features a 360-degree camera and ADAS Level-2.

Powertrain-

This is expected to be another hybrid SUV for the Indian market. Featuring a 1.5-litre petrol engine alongside a 26.7 kWh battery pack. With the larger battery pack, this will likely be a plug-in hybrid offered in an affordable segment.

Launch & Pricing:

The pricing and launch are still under wraps, but in some interviews, JSW officials have said we can expect this SUV by Diwali 2026. This SUV is to be placed in the premium segment, not the luxury segment; that said, we can expect it to be priced between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 27 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). With all the offerings and an attractive price tag, it’s going to be an interesting rivalry between this newcomer and the segment leader, like the Hyundai Creta and the Mahindra Scorpio.

Which one would you pick?
