Ever since Honda launched the Elevate in 2023, it has not created enough buzz or sales as the brand would’ve wanted. Despite decent export numbers, India has not shown strong acceptance. Well, that’s about to change with big voltage! Honda India has confirmed plans to bring a brand-new SUV to India in 2027. This new SUV is likely to be powerful and fun to drive, with a practical and premium cabin. And, it is none other than the new Honda 0 Alpha.

The zero in the Honda 0 name stands for 3 important values in the new EV architecture. 0 emissions, a fresh from 0 approach to design and 0 compromise. Honda also mentioned that the Honda 0 platform is based on a lightweight philosophy and software-defined experience.

This new electric SUV by Honda was initially expected to be the electric version of the Elevate, but it is not the case. This born electric from Honda is expected to be a Front Wheel Drive, single-motor SUV with a choice of multiple battery packs. Honda mentioned that they will manufacture the SUV at their plant in Tapukara, Rajasthan, and will also export it to the global market.

Honda 0 Alpha concept looks big and boxy in pictures. Which means it can be spacious and have well-packaged interiors. And remember, Honda are masters in interior packaging. Case in point, the Honda Jazz.

The upcoming SUV is expected to get features like connected tech, a panoramic sunroof, ADAS, V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) charging, minimalist interiors, and a large touchscreen infotainment system.

The Honda 0 Alpha is likely to be priced around Rs. 20 lakhs. It will be placed against the new Maruti Suzuki eVitara, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella, and Indian players like the Tata Curvv, Hyundai Creta, and the Mahindra BE6. The first electric SUV, dubbed the Honda 0 Alpha, is expected to arrive by 2027.
