Hyundai Creta Spotted –

The Hyundai Creta was recently spotted testing in South Korea. While the SUV was under heavy camouflage, it had the distinct Hyundai Creta stance. With this test mule, we can notice a revised front end. On the side, we can see the Creta sitting on a different set of alloys on the front and back. What’s more interesting is that the Creta is now longer than ever, further improving its SUV-like stance. The longer stance suggests a change of platform, yes, similar to the Seltos, the new-gen Creta is also expected to be underpinned by the K3 platform.

Expected Features

The current-gen Creta is already feature-loaded, packed with features like a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, front ventilated and powered seats, Level-2 ADAS, and much more. And with the revised Creta, we expect Level 2+ ADAS, larger infotainment and driver’s display, along with rear ventilated seats.

The Creta received a thorough facelift just 2 years ago, but this time around, the changes will be more significant. This means that not only will the cabin be more spacious and practical, it will also be safer, thanks to the new K3 platform. The outgoing Creta received a poor 3 stars in the Global NCAP test, and this updated Creta is expected to be the safest Creta yet.

Powertrain

The powertrain is expected to be adopted from the outgoing Creta. The powertrain options would include – 1.5-litre turbo-diesel, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre NA petrol. The gearbox options would include a 6-speed manual, iVT, 6-speed AT and a 7-speed DCT.

Notably, Hyundai has indicated its intention to introduce a hybrid powertrain in the near future, and it is very likely that we could see the next-gen Creta with a hybrid powertrain option. Furthermore, it will continue to be offered with an electric powertrain. Prospective Creta owners will get a wide array of powertrain options to choose from.
