7-Seater SUV Launching Tomorrow!

The Toyota Fortuner has become outdated by modern standards, but people don’t seem to care. Many buy it for its road presence and Toyota badge alone. But this automaker is now launching an even bigger and more feature-loaded SUV than the Japanese SUV.

We are talking about the MG Majestor. This would be a more premium alternative to the Gloster. It is a 7-seater SUV that is more than 5 metres long, which makes it a whopping 300 mm longer than the Fortuner and 50 mm longer than the Gloster. Along with the dominating stance and striking looks, it commands solid road presence. The Majestor is already on sale in global markets and will make its entry in India tomorrow.

New Fortuner Rival – Features & Specifications

This will be MG’s flagship SUV and will thus be packed to the brim with features. Some expected features include a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, Level-2 ADAS, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, powered front seats with massage and ventilation settings, a panoramic sunroof, etc.

The powertrain options would be limited, and we expect it to be offered with the same 2.0-litre diesel from the Gloster. The only difference would be that the Majestor will get a more powerful tune for better power figures. In global markets, the Majestor is offered with an 8-speed AT and 4WD as standard, and we expect the same with the India-spec version.

New Fortuner Rival – Expected Pricing

The Majestor won’t be cheap as it will sit above the MG Gloster. It would compete against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq and the upcoming Volkswagen Tayron R-line. We expect it to be priced between Rs 55 lakh and Rs 65 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

If you are looking for a premium 7-seater SUV, the Majestor could be perfect for you. The SUV segment is getting interesting lately with the Tayron and the Majestor. Furthermore, Skoda is also planning to launch the Kodiaq RS soon. Could the Fortuner’s throne be in trouble? Let us know your thoughts below.
