New Skoda SUV Launching Tomorrow

Skoda has a big year planned, with the launches of the Kodiaq RS, a 2nd batch of Octavia RS, new Kylaq variants, a Slavia facelift, and the rumoured launch of the Skoda Superb. Amongst these launches, the Kushaq facelift will be the first. Skoda has already revealed the Kushaq but has yet to reveal the price.
And that mystery will be solved tomorrow when Skoda finally launches it. Nonetheless, we expect it to be priced around Rs 13 lakh and Rs 23 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Furthermore, pre-bookings for the SUV are now available at Skoda dealerships throughout India.
Skoda has already revealed key details about the Kushaq. It will be offered in five variants – Classic+, Signature, Sportline, Prestige, and Monte Carlo. Additionally, the facelift introduces three new colours: Shimla Green, Steel Grey, and Cherry Red. But what else is new with the facelift? Let us find out.

Kushaq Facelift – Sharper and Sportier Design

The Skoda Kushaq facelift, launching tomorrow, receives a clear design update, making the SUV appear sharper and more contemporary. The front showcases connected LED daytime running lights and a reconfigured headlight arrangement, enhancing its wider and more assertive look. The well-known Skoda grille has been updated, and the front bumper now appears more dynamic with new air vent designs.
The rear of the Kushaq has received a significant visual upgrade. It now features new LED tail-lamps connected by a light strip that spans across the boot, enhancing its premium look. A notable detail is the back-lit Skoda logo, which adds a touch of subtle luxury.

Kushaq Facelift – Segment-First Features

Inside the cabin, Skoda has focused on adding comfort and technology to make the Kushaq stand out. One of the most interesting additions is rear massaging seats, something that has never been offered in this segment before. While massage functions are usually limited to drivers of luxury cars, Skoda has prioritised rear passenger comfort with this feature.
The Skoda Kushaq facelift introduces several technical and comfort-oriented upgrades that were notably absent in the pre-facelift model. A major highlight is the integration of a Google-powered AI companion into the 10.1-inch infotainment system, enabling advanced voice-controlled vehicle functions. The driver’s display has also been upgraded from the previous 8-inch unit to a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster that now supports turn-by-turn navigation directly in the driver’s line of sight.
On the convenience front, Skoda has introduced a panoramic sunroof, 6-way power-adjustable front seats and dual-tone ambient lighting, replacing the single-colour setup of the older version. Externally, the SUV now features sequential turn indicators and a segmented LED light bar integrated into the grille, moving away from the static lighting of its predecessor. Additionally, the updated safety suite includes front parking sensors and a significant utility improvement, with an expanded boot capacity of 491 litres, a substantial jump from the original 385 litres.

Kushaq Facelift – Powertrain

The Kushaq facelift continues with Skoda’s popular TSI engines but brings a key update to the automatic gearbox lineup. The 1.0-litre TSI engine (114bhp & 178Nm) now replaces the older 6-speed torque converter with a new 8-speed torque converter automatic, which should deliver smoother shifts and better efficiency. Meanwhile, the more powerful 1.5-litre TSI engine (148bhp & 250Nm) continues as the performance-focused option in the range and remains paired with the 7-speed DSG gearbox.
