Maruti has revealed that it will expand its lineup to 28 cars from its current 18-car portfolio by the end of 2030. Now, this lineup expansion will include 8 new SUVs, as confirmed by the brand. While some cars are doing very well for Maruti, a few in its lineup might be discontinued due to low sales.

For instance, Maruti Ignis, being a capable Punch rival, is not able to generate sales as its competitor. So, Maruti could bring in a new Tata Punch rival, likely the Hustler. With this move, Maruti could enter new segments to thrive more on the sales front. Similarly, we expect the 8 Maruti SUVs to be as follows:

  • New-gen Brezza 
  • Victoris facelift
  • New-gen Fronx 
  • Grand vitara 7-seater (Y17) – XUV700 rival
  • Tata Punch Rival – Hustler
  • e Vitara & facelift 
  • Jimny facelift

Out of these 8 SUVs, Maruti will be introducing the e Vitara, its first-ever electric SUV in India, this December.

Apart from these new SUVs, the brand will offer an update to its existing models. This could include the addition of hybrid powertrains in select models. Maruti may also look to bring in new electric vehicles to rival the likes of the Tata Tiago EV, Kia Carens Clavis EV and a few more.
