Mahindra’s Sporty Family SUV Confirmed! » MotorOctane

Mahindra has been really raising the bar for its competitors! We have seen it with the recent launch of the Mahindra 7XO, which was a big improvement over the XUV700. And for the good, Mahindra has confirmed that yet another model is incoming! Is it gonna be yet another facelift or a completely new car? Let’s find out- 

Which is the new SUV? 

Mr Rajesh Jejurikar, the Executive Director and CEO of Mahindra, confirmed that the company has been working on something that will be unveiled by 2027. The upcoming product will be as unique as the Mahindra BE 6. Is it yet another RWD sporty SUV that can take you drifting and also give you the feel of a fighter jet cockpit when you step inside the cabin? 

In 2024, Mahindra introduced the BE 6 and XEV 9e, which were unique products compared to anything else on the market. BE 6 was a radical product, and Mahindra is planning another model based on it. How wild can this product get? 

Mahindra BE.07-Exterior : 

Its not like we haven’t seen this one before. Mahindra has already showcased the BE.07 concept. The exterior is pretty much identical to the BE 6, with sharp LED DRLs and closed off front grille. In addition, there are aggressive cuts on the hood and sharp design lines throughout the body. But real differences are expected on the car’s side profile, with a more traditional, practical upright roofline replacing the coupe-style sloping roof of the BE 6. This electric SUV is likely to retain the same wheelbase as the XEV 9e and BE 6.  

Mahindra BE.07- Interior : 

Mahindra is expected to offer additional features inside the cabin while retaining the fighter jet feel. Based on what we have seen with the recent launches of the Brand, Mahindra will add an additional screen to the cabin. The features-list will likely include a 360-degree parking camera, a fixed glass sunroof with customizable LED colour options, and ambient lighting. Rear seat comfort will improve with a bit more headroom. 

Powertrain: 

Just as many of the design elements, BE.07 is expected to share the same powertrain as the Mahindra BE 6. Currently, the Mahindra BE 6 is being offered with two powertrains, including the 59 kWh (228bhp) and 79 kWh (282bhp) battery packs. These battery packs claim ranges of 557km and 683km, respectively. We can expect another battery pack to be added to this list, as we have seen one additional battery pack being offered with XEV 9S.  

Launch and Price: 

The exact launch date is under wraps, but what we know is that Mahindra will launch this car in 2027. The rivals to the BE.07 will be the upcoming Tata Sierra EV and Creta EV. With that said, the expected price of this SUV is between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 30 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
