BYD Atto 3 Survives Missile Impact In Israel-Iran War!

In the middle of a gruesome war, a miraculous event was recorded, which may intrigue many. An SUV, which is on sale in India, surprisingly survived a close-range ballistic missile. The shocking part is that this is not an armoured car or full-size luxury SUV, but a modest electric SUV, the BYD Atto 3. First things first, the missile did not directly hit the SUV, but landed very close to the Atto 3. A ballistic missile can cause a lot of damage, not only to the object that it hits, but also to everything else in its close vicinity. However, this BYD Atto 3, carrying 5 people, survived. From the video, it is clear that the SUV has sustained ample damage. However, all 5 passengers were safe.
The video also shows that the airbags were deployed and the overall structure and shell of the SUV, along with the A, B and C pillars, were intact. But that’s not all! Many instances have surfaced on the internet depicting EVs catching fire. However, the BYD Atto 3, even after surviving and sustaining damage from a missile, did not catch on fire. While many Indians believe Chinese EVs are of questionable build quality and battery tech, this particular incident proves otherwise. BYD’s Blade battery technology has just proven itself in the worst possible condition. So, it is safe to say that the BYD Atto 3 might just be one of the safest cars, if not the safest in the world!

Now here’s something you should know. Maruti, Toyota and Mahindra all use the same BYD Blade battery. Which signals that EVs from these brands should also be safe and strong. Moreover, commercial EV brand Olectra also uses BYD batteries in its commercial vehicles. Cases like these highlight that EVs are not as unsafe as people have always perceived them to be.
