Recently, I shared my crash experience and how was I saved from it. After it we have seen many riders searching for better and affordable riding gears online. Today, I’ve listed out some of the affordable yet good riding gears for all the riders.

Affordable Riding Gears – Shoes

We know many might have come here searching for Jackets and Pants, but believe us riding shoes are more important than that. So, which are the best affordable options? 

If you are looking for a city purpose – Woodland shoes can be a better and affordable option. But on highways, you will feel the need for something better. 

There are many riding shoes currently in the market, offering protection from low height ankle shoes to shin. Some of the brands you can look out for are –

  • Raida Tourer Motorcycle Riding Shoes

  • Solace Scout Riding Shoes
  • TVS Racing Riding Shoes
  • Cramster Flux Riding Boots

Make sure, the shoes you buy have a thermoformed toe cap, heel protection and ankle protection, inclusion of D30 is better in some cases.

What To Avoid

Many riders often buy safety shoes for its affordability and safety, yes, they have steel toe caps. But the steel toe cap is far more dangerous than even a regular shoe, as the steel toe can damage your toes more.

Jacket

Let’s talk about the most searched about riding gear – Jacket. Yes, a jacket is also important as it protects around 35-40percent of your whole body. Many try to save a bit and take any affordable jacket from the market. But, many such affordable ones don’t have the needed protectors. 

So, if you are looking for some better options – you can have a look at –

Pants

Let’s sum up the riding gears with an affordable option riding pants. While talking about pants, just like the jackets – we need to look out for options having protection at the needed parts like knee, tailbone & hips. 

So, if you are looking for a good pants, here are some options you can choose from –

Affordable Riding Gears – Gloves

Now let’s have a look at another underrated protection gear – gloves. Fingers and knuckles are the parts that primarily get in-contact with the ground during a fall, so having a good pair of gloves is a necessity. 

To choose from gauntlets or regular gloves, is a subjective choice depending on your usage. In the city, regular gloves will also do the work, but gauntlets are preferred for its extra protection. Some might not be comfortable wearing a gauntlet, handling the bike in the traffic condition, in such cases wearing regular gloves is okay. 

If you are looking for regular gloves, there are several options available in the market, but make sure it has rigid protection on the knuckle area, along with palm and fingers. Another thing to remember is that the gloves with joint ring and pinky finger is always a plus, as it lowers the impact on the two weak fingers. Apart from that, make sure the gloves have good abrasion resistant materials, making it slide in case of an impact. 

While buying a glove, make sure your bike is near you so you can try to twist the throttle and see if the glove is a perfect fit for you.

Helmets

Lastly, let’s move on to the helmets. The most essential part of your riding, and you might even have one. But, if you are wanting to upgrade – then this piece of information might be helpful. 

While buying a helmet, the most necessary thing to check is the certification – make sure your next helmet has a certification from Dot, ESE (international standards). Apart from that, if the helmet has a double D-ring lock, emergency straps and pin-lock equipped it’s a good choice. 

Make sure it has a good shell with proper padding, and it fits your head with ease and doesn’t juggling. There are several choices available in the market for an affordable helmet, but buying a full face helmet is always recommended, not a half-face or a split up helmet.
