New Honda SUV

At the ongoing Tokyo Motor Show, Honda has announced that it will launch the new ‘0 Alpha’ SUV in India in 2027! It is a born electric SUV that will be manufactured locally by Honda. This also means that Honda will price the new SUV anywhere between Rs 18 lakh & Rs 27 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Once launched, the new Honda 0 Alpha will rival the likes of Mahindra BE 6, Maruti e Vitara, Tata Sierra.ev, Hyundai Creta EV and others. And yes, Honda has revealed the new SUV in production-ready avatar at the Tokyo Motor Show. So, let’s take a look at what Honda’s first electric SUV offers.

Honda 0 Alpha Key Details

Let’s take a look at the details shared by Honda for its new electric SUV –

Spacious Cabin –

Being a born EV, the Honda 0 Alpha will sport a spacious cabin. Competitors like the Hyundai Creta EV & the Mahindra BE 6 are spacious, and Honda will want to be at par or even better. That said, we can expect a flat floor & a lot of storage spaces that can be achieved with the new platform. The wheelbase is said to be between 2700mm & 2800mm.

New Honda SUV Unique Design –

The concept model showcased at the event is production-ready. Honda has confirmed that not many changes will be made for the actual production model. It is tall, wide, and has large window areas. Additionally, the design has also helped Honda to offer sufficient boot space and ground clearance. Some other design elements include – connected LED light bar at the front, an illuminated Honda logo, and a U-shaped LED light bar at the rear.

Feature Loaded –

Earlier this year, Honda revealed the interior of the 0 Alpha concept. The concept was showcased with a futuristic dashboard design, featuring a triple-screen layout. And considering the upcoming Sierra.ev also to have this feature, Honda might actually bring it to the production model. Rest, expect features like Level 2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, high-resolution displays, ventilated seats, and everything a modern SUV requires.

New Honda SUV Battery Packs –

Honda is yet to reveal details regarding the battery packs for the 0 Alpha. Having said that, we can expect the SUV to get a similar setup – between 55kWh & 75kWh – that the competition has. Even the range will be at par with the competition – 450+ km in real-life conditions.
