Hero Bikes To Get ADAS!

Hero has decided to collaborate with Valeo, an automobile technology company, to work on ARAS or as we know, ADAS, on its bikes. This move follows Hero’s bold move to offer cruise control in its affordable bikes. Valeo, as a company, has expertise in radar and smart camera technologies, which play a major role in any vehicle with ADAS. And Hero has decided to bring this technology to both its affordable as well as premium bikes.
This will allow Hero to offer a safer riding experience to its customers. In a country like India, where reckless driving and riding have become a usual sight, ARAS will play a major role in avoiding accidents. ADAS, as a safety technology, has become quite popular, and more buyers are starting to lean towards ADAS-equipped vehicles. So, Hero could capitalise on this and be one of the first few to bring this technology into two-wheelers. Hero and Valeo have already put together a proof-of-concept system. So, how does it work?

How Will It Work?

Valeo’s ARAS system is a radar-based system and will likely get 2 radar modules at the front and back. This ARAS system will get features like forward collision warning, distance warning, blind spot detection, lane change assist, and rear collision warning. Such features are only available in cars and very expensive motorcycles. However, if Hero and Valeo are able to implement this into budget-friendly bikes, it is sure to create massive buzz in the market.
ARAS will act as a safety net for riders in India, where anything can happen on the roads. This technology could come quite handy to many riders and allow the rider to have a safer and convenient ride. Plus, the ARAS system could eventually get updated over time with even more features for added safety. That said, this is quite an exciting technology that Hero is working on, and we would definitely want to see this on more motorcycles.
