Royal Enfield Fix E20 Problem:

We have all been worried about our beloved old bikes, which are slowly being damaged by ethanol blended into petrol. To solve that, Royal Enfield has just introduced a retrofit kit for its bikes to withstand higher ethanol blends in fuel. Is your bike compatible with this kit?

This kit is compatible with all Royal Enfield models that are BS3- and BS4-compliant and feature a carburettor. This list includes popular Royal Enfields, such as the Classic 350, Bullet 350, and Thunderbird 350. This kit includes ethanol-resistant fuel lines, upgraded O-rings and seals, new gaskets, and a few carburettor parts that have been exposed to ethanol. These parts replace the existing non-E20-compliant components. How to install this kit?

This is a Royal Enfield OEM product, currently available at their official service centres. You can call your near one to check availability. This kit is priced at Rs 1,701, and you will have to bear the additional labour cost, which varies by service centre.

What Difference Does This Makes?

You won’t notice much change when you ride your bike, but this will increase its reliability. You no longer have to worry about your fuel line cracking due to exposure to ethanol.

The ethanol blended into your fuel attracts moisture into your bike, which can further cause rusting. This rushing can clog your bike’s fuel lines. So, avoid keeping fuel in your tanks for extended periods when not in use. Periodic carburettor cleaning can also help ensure smooth operation of your bike. And the most important tip remains to keep riding your old motorcycle, which not only keeps your mind fresh but also prevents ethanol from settling and attracting moisture into various parts of your bike.
