MG Majestor Launch Confirmed!


First showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo in 2025 and now officially revealed in India on 12th February 2026, the MG Majestor became India’s first D+ segment car. With the reveal, we know that the Majestor will be offered in four variants, including 6- and 7-seater configurations. But what remained under wraps was the price of the Majestor. MG will officially announce the prices on 20th April 2026. But how is this better than the Fortuner? To understand that, let’s find out what it has to offer-

Exteriors


Obviously, you will see the extensive use of words like “massive” or “big” when describing this SUV. The reason being Majestor is a D+ segment SUV, which is one segment above the D segment. This means that, in terms of outer dimensions, it has a length of 5,046mm and a width of 2,016mm, making this new SUV bigger than the Toyota Fortuner. Like any other huge SUV in the Indian market, Majestor also has a boxy design. The front fascia features a massive blacked-out grille with vertical DRLs, and at the rear, it comes with the connected taillamp and ‘Majestor’ branding on the tailgate. In addition to the extensive equipment list, this SUV has massive 19-inch alloy wheels.

Interior


Majestor is not just bigger; it also has a longer feature list than the Fortuner. Inside the cabin, you are welcomed by the 12.3-inch driver’s display as well as an infotainment screen, with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include 12-way driver seat adjustment, 8-way co-passenger seat adjustment, power tailgate with gesture operation, 3-zone climate control, ventilated and massaging front seats, panoramic sunroof, and much more! For the driver’s assistance, this SUV is equipped with a Level-2 ADAS system, Hill hold and start assist, and a 360-degree camera. Majestor has not yet been tested for its safety rating, but it comes with safety features such as 6 airbags, TPMS, and more. What about the power? Is it more powerful than the Fortuner? Powertrain


Under the hood, the Majestor features a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing 215.5bhp and 480Nm torque. This engine comes with an 8-speed Torque converter gearbox. Also, the automaker will offer the Majestor in two powertrain configurations: RWD and 4WD. What’s special about this powertrain is the triple-differential set featuring front, rear, and central differentials, allowing us to select from 10 modes, including sand, snow, mud, and rock.
Price & Rivals


This is not the direct competitor to the Fortuner, as this belongs to a higher segment. But MG is expected to price it aggressively between Rs 47.50 lakh and Rs 55 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Another indirect competitor to the Majestor could have been the Gloster, but it was most likely replaced by the Majestor.
