Fiat SUV Spotted!

No one could have expected Fiat to make a comeback, but apparently it is. One of our followers shared some spy shots of this test mule, and all indications suggest it is a Fiat. Gone are the days of the Palio. Linea, the Punto, and the Fiat have taken a more modern approach this time around.

Fiat has displayed multiple concept cars in global markets, and one of these concepts has come to life in India. Wonder how we are so sure about it? Well, the person who took these spy shots was curious and asked the driver for more details. Although he showed some reluctance, the spotter managed to extract key information from him. The driver admitted that it was a Fiat, and it was codenamed the F2X. After some research, we found out that the F2X is sold as the Fiat Fastback in global markets.

And as the name suggests, it is a coupe SUV. Fiat has tried to hide the silhouette, but this concealment makes it even more obvious. Fiat already sells the Fastback in South America; however, speculation suggests it is planning to launch a different iteration in European markets. Recently, the F2X was spotted testing in Europe, and it looks like a spitting image of the test mule we have here.

Fiat Is Back – Other Details

Another key thing the spotter noticed was that the car made no noise, indicating it was an EV. The Fastback is said to be based on the Grande Panda (sold in global markets) and gets a 44kWh battery pack (113 bhp & 122 Nm) with a claimed range of 320 km (WLTP).

However, it could also be that the Stellantis group is testing the waters for its new electric powertrains in India, which would be offered on Citroen and Jeep models. Since there is barely any information about it, it is difficult to figure out the exact feature list. We expect it to have all modern amenities, such as a panoramic sunroof, an ADAS suite, ventilated and powered front seats, etc.

Another key detail is that this mule is a left-hand drive and not the Indian production-spec, indicating that the F2X is just in its testing phase.

Fiat Is Back – Expected Launch & Pricing

Everything about this test mule is unexpected. Everyone has been talking about JSW’s entrance into the market lately, but could Fiat’s surprise comeback outstage it? Nonetheless, it is nearly impossible that it will be launched this year or next year. If the Stellantis group actually go forward with this plan, we could see it by late 2028.

Its main competitor would be the Tata Curvv.ev. This means that it would be priced around Rs 17 – 25 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
