The Toyota Land Cruiser is one of the most iconic SUV brands in the world. Toyota Land Cruiser FJ Price Revealed!
Toyota unveiled the Land Cruiser FJ at an auto expo some time ago, and it left people excited. And with reports suggesting that we could see it in India, everyone started talking about it. Toyota’s SUV range in India is quite slim and in need of a much-needed refresh. And this is where the FJ would step in.

And now it has been launched in Thailand, giving us a brief idea of how the Indian-spec FJ will be priced. It has been launched at 1,269,000 THB, which translates to around Rs 36.4 lakh. It is the cheapest Land Cruiser money can buy. In comparison, the Fortuner (known as Fortuner leader) costs 1,239,000 THB (Rs 35.5 lakh), the Fortuner legender is priced at 1,643,000 THB (Rs 47.14 lakh), and the GR Sport costs 1,969,000 THB (Rs 56.5 lakh).

These prices match the ex-showroom pricing of the India-spec models as well, making it easier to understand how the Land Cruiser FJ would be priced in India, if locally produced. The Land Cruiser FJ would be slightly more expensive than the base-variant Fortuner, but would be cheaper than the higher-variants of the Fortuner, like the GR-S or the Legender. This means we could see it being priced between Rs 43 lakh and Rs 47 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Another thing to note is that the FJ is offered in only one variant globally.

Features & Specifications

The FJ is a 5-seater SUV that is more than 4.6m long. This means that the cabin is as practical as it gets. As for the features, it gets 7 airbags, an ADAS suite, a 360-degree camera, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, dual-zone climate control, TPMS, and additional off-road aids.
But the engine is somewhat of a letdown. It gets the 2.7-litre petrol engine (164 bhp & 245 Nm) from the Fortuner, mated to a 6-speed AT and a 4WD drivetrain as standard. Toyota must be aware of how much Indians love the 2.8-litre diesel and could offer it in the Indian spec.

Land Cruiser FJ Price Revealed – Expected Launch

Reports suggest the Land Cruiser FJ could launch in the second half of 2028, which seems like an eternity away. However, Toyota could postpone the launch if there is high demand for such premium 5-seater SUVs in the market. If launched in India, it would compete against the Kodiaq Lounge, Citroen C5 Aircross and its own sibling, the Fortuner.
While the Land Cruiser name has strong appeal, it remains unclear whether it could work in India. The Fortuner offers better practicality and a more powerful engine at a similar price, so why would you buy the FJ? Not to mention, with the imminent arrival of the Fortuner facelift, the feature list would become much more attractive.
The only positive aspect of the FJ is that the 4WD drivetrain is standard, but are you willing to make the sacrifice of an extra row of seating, a bigger boot, and the mighty 2.8-litre diesel for it?
