Upcoming Japanese 7-seater

We are talking about the Nissan Gravite. The current Nissan lineup is pretty slim and only includes 2 SUVs – the Magnite and the X-Trail. The Japanese manufacturer is now planning to get back into the automobile game with the Gravite. The launch of the Gravite was initially set for January 21, but has now been postponed to February 17. The deliveries of the Gravite are set start by March 2026. We will see the launch of the Nissan Tekton, its mid-sized SUV, soon after the Gravite’s launch as well.
The Gravite is expected to be priced between Rs 7 lakh and Rs 10 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Such pricing would make it one of the cheapest 7-seaters on the market, alongside the Renault Triber. The Gravite would be a cheaper alternative to the Maruti Ertiga.

Renault Triber Interior Used For Reference
The Gravite is based on the Renault Triber. Nissan will give it its own touch to make it look more attractive. Nissan teased the Gravite a few months ago, giving us a glimpse of what it could look like. Some changes that it would get over the Triber are sharper headlights, revised front and rear bumpers and a characteristic Nissan front grille.
On the inside, the changes will be minimal. It is expected to get an identical cabin to the Triber. The Nissan badging might be the only way you could tell it apart from its French sibling. The Triber boasts a practical cabin, and Nissan won’t try to mess up that recipe. We expect features like a 7-inch instrument cluster, a cooled glovebox, an 8-inch touchscreen system, a 6-speaker sound system, push-button start, a rear camera, a cooled centre console and glovebox, LED headlamps and taillamps, etc.
The powertrain options will be adopted from the Triber. It is expected to get a 1.0-litre petrol engine (71 bhp & 96 Nm). A 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT are expected to be offered as the transmission options. Furthermore, Nissan is also expected to offer it with a CNG option.
