What makes the current XUV700 so special is the equipment it has to offer. With the XUV 7XO, Mahindra will take a couple of steps ahead. As per teasers, the 7XO will have a similar setup to the recently launched XEV 9S. This includes a new dashboard design & refreshed cabin layout. The highlight will be the triple-screen layout, which includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen system and a 12.3-inch co-driver touch display. Other features that are expected to be offered include – powered co-driver seat, auto dimming IRVM, powered boss mode, 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, sliding & reclining second row seats and more.

Apart from the new features & new interior design, the exterior will also receive a major design overhaul. The brand has already teased a new front grille & refreshed headlamp setup. We also expect a new design for the alloy wheels, which are also expected to get a size up to 19-inches. And yes, the rear profile will also see some refreshed elements, including new taillamps – similar to the XEV 9S.

What also makes the XUV700 a popular choice amongst buyers is the engine options. The SUV is offered with a 2.0-litre diesel engine & a 2.2-litre turbo petrol engine. Both these engines are very refined & power-packed – mated with options for 6MT & 6AT gearbox options. The good news is that Mahindra will likely continue with the same engine options.

Now, although we ask you not to buy the XUV700 now, there are a couple of factors to consider. Firstly, the pricing! Currently, the XUV700 is priced between Rs 16.50 lakh & Rs 30.65 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). However, with a facelift, the prices are expected to see a massive hike. On the other hand, the XUV 7XO, like any other Mahindra SUV, will likely see a long waiting period! So, even if Mahindra launches the SUV in January, the deliveries may start a little late. At the same time, if you don’t feel comfortable with either of these factors, you can get yourself the current model, which is expected to be listed with a massive discount!
