TVS has officially launched the Orbiter V1 scooter at a shocking price tag of just Rs 49,999 (ex-showroom) – cheaper than the iPhone 16! The Orbiter was already quite an impressive scooter and seemed quite a value for money. However, TVS has decided to crank it up a notch with a new BaaS (Battery-as-a-service) plan, which makes the Orbiter V1 extremely affordable to buy upfront. But wait, there’s more to it! The monthly fee plan for the Orbiter V1 is just Rs 862, for unlimited kilometres. Usually, most brands offer a limited number of kilometres depending on the plan you choose.

However, with the TVS Orbiter, you can choose any tenure plan (24, 36, or 60 months) and use the scooter for unlimited kilometres. This is a great move from TVS, challenging the likes of the Hero Vida with its BaaS plan. Bringing down the upfront buying cost of the scooter and also providing unlimited kms at a fixed monthly amount is quite impressive. This could steer away many buyers from its rivals and might even be a great bang-for-buck for value-conscious buyers. But what else does the TVS Orbiter V1 have to offer?

You get a great list of features along with a captivating design and decent riding range. Features include an LCD display, turn-by-turn navigation, cruise control, riding modes, hill-hold assist, anti-theft notifications and the list goes on. Being a family-oriented scooter, the Orbiter is very practical with a large footboard area, 34 litres of underseat storage, a massive 845mm long seat and much more.

TVS is also offering a 5-year or 70,000km extended warranty for the BaaS variant. This Orbiter V1 gets a 1.86kWh battery pack, which is good for 86km (claimed). While that may not seem like a lot, it is ample for daily commutes and city riding. At this price point, we believe that this is one of the most value-for-money scooters you can buy, especially with the BaaS.
