New Tata SUV Launch

After the launch of the new Sierra in 2025, buyers are now waiting for its EV version. However, before the Sierra.ev, the brand will be launching India’s favourite SUV in an all-new avatar. If you haven’t guessed it yet, we are talking about the Punch.ev facelift. Reports are suggesting that the Punch.ev facelift will be launched on the 20th of February 2026. The facelift is expected to include minor cosmetic changes, along with new features & probably a new battery pack. So, what exactly to expect?

New Design

In terms of design, the Punch.ev will hardly get any major upgrades. Compared to the pre-facelift ICE Punch, its EV avatar has always been the more modern-looking product. In fact, the Punch ICE facelift is heavily based on its EV version. However, it does not get the connected LED DRLs like the Punch.ev and instead gets redesigned taillamps with a connected effect. That said, for the Punch.ev facelift, we expect Tata Motors to retain the connected LED DRL of the current model and make changes to the rear with the addition of the connected LED taillamps.

What about the interior? Well, the interior of the Punch.ev is in line with the other Tata SUVs. This includes the touch-based AC controls and the 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo. All of which will be carried forward with the facelift. Having said that, the only major design change we expect is a new interior colour theme. However, we expect it to get some new, first-in-segment features!
New Tata SUV Launch – New Features

Even in the current version, the Punch.ev is a feature-loaded SUV. It comes with automatic LED headlamps, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, and more. For the facelift, we can expect Tata Motors to offer the Punch.ev with updated features, including Level 2 ADAS & a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen. Why will it get ADAS? Well, the Punch facelift seems to have a dummy slot for the radar sensor used for ADAS. However, Tata did not offer the updated Punch with ADAS. So, it is safe to say that the Punch.ev facelift could get ADAS, for added safety.

Larger Battery Pack

Now, this is something we don’t really expect the brand to offer, but if it does, it will be a major upgrade. Currently, the Punch.ev is offered with two battery pack options – 25kWh & 35kWh. Among these, the smaller battery pack comes with a claimed range of 315km & the larger battery pack has a claimed range of 421km. However, there are some chances of Tata Motors offering a bigger, 40.5kWh battery pack that was earlier offered with the Nexon.ev. The said battery pack came with a claimed range of 465km, which should be even more for the smaller Punch.ev.

Overall, the Punch.ev facelift is expected to set high standards in a segment where it rules. Also, with all the expected upgrades, the facelift is expected to cost Rs 35,000 to Rs 50,000 more. Currently, the Punch.ev is priced between Rs 10.39 lakh & Rs 15.31 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
