Renault Bridger DetailsRenault Bridger Details

Renault recently announced that it will introduce 7 new models by 2030, including the brand’s first-ever EV for India, the Bridger. Worry not, the Bridger will also be offered with an ICE powertrain, which we will soon discuss! This is part of the French car-makers’ FutureREady strategy, which will introduce multiple new powertrain options like full-hybrids, EVs and newer petrol engines. That aside, the Bridger did catch our attention, thanks to its unique design. So, without any further ado, let’s see what this new Renault SUV has got!

Design And Features

The key highlight of the Renault Bridger is the way it looks – boxy, futuristic, and most importantly, rugged! The sharp headlights, aero wheels, illuminated Renault logo, rear-mounted spare tyre, and much more help the Bridger stand out from the crowd. The muscular haunches, black cladding, roof rails, and duo-tone paint job give it proper SUV-type road presence. We believe this Renault SUV will take on the likes of the Mahindra Thar and the Maruti Jimny, and the Bridger does look quite purposeful and capable.

As of now, Renault has not yet unveiled any details of the interior. We can expect to see a minimalist yet modern cabin, rugged design cues, and be packed with features. Expected features include a twin-screen setup, a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, and much more. Renault has confirmed that it will feature a 400-litre boot and will be offered in the sub-4 meter segment. That said, what else does it have to offer?

Renault Bridger – What Else?

The Bridger will be based on the RGMP (Renault Group Modular Platform), which also underpins the Duster. In a recent event, Renault announced that the Bridger will be launched as the brand’s first EV, and will be offered with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. The EV will likely get a 400-500km battery pack, and could utilise LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate). The details of the petrol engine, on the other hand, are still under wraps. However, there is a possibility that the SUV could be based on the CMF-B platform, which can accommodate 4WD. We also expect the EV version to get 4WD as well.

However, what is most interesting is that the Bridger could also feature a twin-cylinder CNG underbody tank, allowing for improved practicality while still ensuring great fuel economy. We could see it being priced between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 18 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The EV would be priced slightly higher between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 24 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Renault will likely introduce the Bridger in 2027! We believe the Bridger is quite an exciting SUV to look forward to and could be an impressive competitor to the Thar and the Jimny. So, would you buy the Renault Bridger?
