The Vision S. The Vision X. The Vision SXT. The Vision T – Mahindra New SUV In 2026

Four very different vehicles. One shared promise is that affordable Indian SUVs are about to look, feel, and perform like nothing seen before. All four concepts are built on a newly designed NU IQ platform that supports multiple body types and powertrain options, including petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric. Production versions are expected to roll out from 2027 onwards. And the starting price? Somewhere in the Rs 12 lakh territory. Let’s break down each one.

Vision S

Meet the Vision S, Mahindra’s compact SUV concept that packs a whole lot of personality into a sub-4 metre footprint. One look at it and you sense familiar DNA that same bold, upright attitude the Scorpio N carries, but scaled down and sharpened up for a younger, urban audience. Up front, a blacked-out rectangular grille sets a serious tone, flanked by inverted L-shaped LED headlamps and vertical DRL strips that give it a distinctive road presence. Pixel-style LED fog lamps and a solid silver skid plate complete the picture. The side view tells a similar story. The boxy SUV shape is very much intentional, but look closer, and you start noticing the finer details, flush door handles that sit seamlessly into the body, and dual-tone alloy wheels with a design language that feels a couple of price segments above where this car is expected to land.

Inside is where the Vision S really catches you off guard. The cabin wraps you in a navy blue-and-grey dual-tone theme that feels genuinely premium the moment you sit down. Two screens sit neatly integrated into the dashboard, one for infotainment, one for the driver’s display, while a touch panel handles climate controls without a single physical knob in sight. Ventilated front seats, a wireless charging pad, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold functionality are all present, which would be impressive in any car. But when you consider that the Vision S is rumoured to be priced from around Rs 8 to 9 lakh, the navy blue and black leatherette seats with white contrast stitching start to feel less like a feature and more like a statement.

Vision X – Mahindra New SUV In 2026

The Mahindra Vision X could be an SUV measuring 4,100 to 4,200 mm, as Mahindra doesn’t have any in that segment. The hood features muscular contours, a 6-slat closed-off grille, sleek LED DRLs, and LED headlights mounted lower on the bumper. On the side, it features gloss-black cladding and 19-inch aero-styled alloy wheels.

Inside, it becomes the first Mahindra SUV to feature an integrated curved dual-display setup, one screen for infotainment and one for the driver’s display paired with a modern 2-spoke steering wheel. The estimated price range is competitive, at Rs 9.50 lakh to Rs 18 lakh, and the concept is considered near-production-ready, with around 90% of its styling expected to carry over to the final model.

Vision SXT

The Vision SXT is a pickup-style concept closely inspired by the Vision T. Up front, it boasts a black rectangular grille merging into square LED projector headlight housings, vertical LED DRLs that also double as turn indicators, and an off-road-specific bumper with a silver skid plate. The rear door handles are C-pillar-mounted, similar to the Thar Roxx, and it rides on chunky off-road tyres.

The most dramatic feature? Two spare wheels are mounted directly in the pickup flatbed at the rear, secured by a matte black trim a design choice that makes the SXT look straight out of a Dakar Rally paddock. The Vision SXT is underpinned by the NU_IQ modular architecture designed for SUVs between 3,990mm and 4,320mm in length, with a wheelbase of 2,665mm, giving it class-best interior space. Mahindra claims a class-best turning radius of 10.3 metres despite its size. It will be compatible with petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrains, as well as both front- and all-wheel-drive options.

Inside, the Vision SXT shares its minimalist dashboard with the Vision T, featuring a free-standing digital instrument cluster, a large portrait-oriented touchscreen, physical switchgear, a 3-spoke steering wheel, and a panoramic sunroof. The cabin gets yellow accent finishes on the AC vents, steering wheel, and door grab handles, a quirky, confident touch that says this isn’t your grandfather’s pickup. The Mahindra Vision SXT is expected to launch in late 2027-2028, with an estimated price of Rs 13.5 to 22 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Vision T – Mahindra New SUV In 2026

This is the one that Thar’s loyalists have been secretly hoping for ever since the Thar Roxx launched. The Vision T takes the rugged, go-anywhere soul of the Thar family and evolves it into something more practical and more refined. The Vision T concept features a boxy silhouette, squared-off wheel arches, yellow bonnet latches, visible door hinges, and chunky all-terrain tyres. It looks like an evolved version of the Thar E concept shown in South Africa in 2023. The rear has two vertical tail lamps and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel.

Inside, the Vision T gets a portrait infotainment touchscreen, a free-standing instrument cluster, and a panoramic sunroof. Mahindra aims for a five-star rating in both GNCAP and Euro NCAP crash tests, and the production version is expected to feature a 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS. The Vision T Concept is based on the all-new NU_IQ flexible modular architecture, compatible with both ICE and electric powertrains, and is expected to launch in 2027. Pricing is expected to range from Rs 12 to 20 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
