Maruti Suzuki eVitara Scores A 4-Star Safety Rating!

Since 2024, Maruti Suzuki has been working to improve the safety of its products. And to support this, it is making constant efforts. The result of these efforts is now not just limited to India but also across the globe. One of these successes is the latest 4-star safety rating secured by the Maruti Suzuki eVitara at A-NCAP, which is built in India. As safety rating is emerging as the deciding factor when purchasing in India, this is a big relief for the brand.

How Safe Is The eVitara?

Well, we know that earlier in the Bharat NCAP, the eVitara performed very well and secured a 5-star safety rating. At ANCAP, this electric SUV has scored 31 out of 44 for adult occupant protection, 43 out of 49 for child occupant protection, and 12.78 out of 18 for safety assistance. Overall, the Made-in-India Maruti Suzuki eVitara has secured a 4-star safety rating from ANCAP. Does that mean the Bharat NCAP testing facility is being biased with the made-in-India product? Definitely not! There is a difference in the testing parameters, which leads to this fluctuation in the safety ratings. The Maruti lost points in ANCAP for lacking the central airbag, not having the class-leading ADAS system, and the pedestrian safety not being perfect. These criteria are treated more strictly than with the Bharat NCAP.
What Else?

The Korean automaker introduced the eVitara as its first electric vehicle in India earlier this year. Inside, the cabin features a dual-screen setup with a 10.1-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch driver’s display. Additional features include dual-zone climate control, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, front seat ventilation, a sunroof, and more. For driver’s assistance, it also features a 360-degree parking camera and a Level-2 ADAS system.
This Maruti Suzuki is offered with two battery pack options: 49kWh and 61kWh. These two battery packs provide the claimed range of 440km and 543km, respectively. Also, this SUV is currently offered in FWD, but the automaker might introduce an all-wheel-drive version later.

Pricing & Rivals
As the prices were revealed very recently, it is priced between Rs 16.99 lakh and Rs 21.20 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). In terms of pricing and offerings, it competes with the Tata Curvv.ev, MG ZS EV, Tata Nexon EV and MG Windsor EV. While the Tatas in this are among the safest, and the MG Windsor is the cheapest, the eVitara stands in the middle ground. Looking for a practical EV with a trusted brand service network and safety?
