Vinfast MPV7 Launch Confirmed

Test mules of the Vinfast MPV7 have been spotted numerous times across the country, and a launch was long overdue. And finally, its launch has been confirmed for April 15th. The pre-bookings have also commenced ahead of its launch.

This MPV will be launched in two avatars – Limo Green & MPV7. The MPV7 is meant for the general public, while the Limo Green will be sold as a fleet vehicle. It won’t be a direct Innova Cysta or Hycross rival since the MPV is an EV, but it is expected to sit in a similiar price bracket between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 30 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Looks & Features

The design language is simple and practical. You get the traditional headlights and taillights like other Vinfast models, and that’s all there is to the aesthetics. Vinfast has gone for a minimalist look on the exterior. It is a 4.74m MPV, making it longer than the Crysta but slightly shorter than the Hycross.

We can take a look inside the cabin thanks to the international spec model. The minimalistic look is carried inside, where you can spot one infotainment screen, and that’s it. It doesn’t even get a driver’s display, but we expect a heads-up display as a replacement for the Indian-spec.

Its feature list includes –

  • 10.1-inch infotainment screen
  • Single-zone climate control
  • 4-airbags
  • Electronic parking brake
  • Synthetic leather seats
  • PM2.5 air filter
  • Powered driver’s seat
  • Steering-mounted controls

Innova Rival Launch Confirmed – Powertrain

The MPV7 is expected to get a 60.13kWh battery pack that churns out 204 bhp and 280 Nm via its single electric motor. It has an NEDC-claimed range of 450 km, and you can charge it up from 10% to 70% in 30 minutes using a fast charger. These numbers are quite similiar to its direct rival, the Carens Clavis EV.

It is not as feature-rich as the Carens Clavis EV or the Innova Hyrcross, and Vinfast would need to price it aggressively to get a grip in the competitive MPV segment. With the MPV7, you would get the practicality of an Innova Hycross minus the high running costs.
