Honda 2-Wheeler India Clocks Sales of 63.69 Lakh Units in FY26

The company’s sales grew by 9 percent in FY26 over FY25 as it sold 57,49,275 units in the domestic market while 6,20,229 units were exported

Honda 2-Wheelers India has finished FY26 (April 2025 – March 2026) with overall sales of 63,69,504 units which includes 57,49,275 units in the domestic market while 6,20,229 units were exported out of India. It posted YoY sales growth of 9 percent in FY26 over FY25. As far as March 2026 volumes are concerned, the Japanese brand retailed 5,49,145 units with a YoY growth of 29 percent as compared to March 2025. The company recorded sales of 5,12,303 units in domestic market and 36,842 units in exports for the said period.

Honda is presently the second biggest two-wheeler brand in India as the top position is occupied by Hero MotoCorp. The Activa is the brand’s best-selling model with average monthly sales in excess of 1 lakh units. It is the highest-selling scooter in the Indian market from the last several years. The Activa is sold with 110cc and 125cc engine options.

In the motorcycle segment, Honda Shine 125 is the brand’s top-selling model with average monthly volumes close to 1 lakh units. It regularly features at the second position in the list of top 10 motorcycles in India after the segment leader Hero Splendor. In addition, the Shine 100 also makes decent monthly numbers with sales exceeding 30,000 units.

Honda Tapukara Factory

Recently, Honda announced the installation of a new third line at its Tapukara plant in Rajasthan which will begin operations in 2028 with annual capacity of 6.70 lakh units. With this expansion, the total capacity of the Tapukara factory will reach to 2.01 million units per year. The brand’s overall annual production capacity is likely to increase from the current 6.25 million units to approximately 8 million units by FY2028.

Honda has four manufacturing plants across India with annual production capacity of 6.25 million units. It has rolled out 70 million units so far. The company will also add a fourth production line at its Vithalapur plant in Ahmedabad district, Gujarat. It is likely to start operations by next year. The Japanese automaker begun sales operations nearly 25 years back in 2001 in the Indian market.

Honda also has plans to develop a dedicated production line for electric two-wheelers at its Narsapura factory in Karnataka. It is being readied for an annual production capacity of 1 million units by 2030. The Narsapura facility will be used for the production of electric scooters and motorcycles. The dedicated production line is likely to begin operations from 2028.
